So recently I have been wanting to get a bit more exercise and wanting to be a little bit more healthier. When I got the chance to review these leggings I felt extremely lucky. It’s taken a while to review because I have no get up and go when it comes to exercise at all so forcing myself to do the odd walk/run here and there has proved difficult. After all I’m going to be doing the Moon Walk Marathon [Read more…]
Now is the time when you’re most probably starting to plan out your vacations for the year. Whether you’re hoping to head off this summer or later in the year, there’s plenty that needs to be planned.
When it comes to booking a vacation, most of us don’t think about the best way to book it, we just look at what the lowest price is. However, this shouldn’t be the case; we should be thinking about the pros and cons of each option. Want to know what they are – keep reading!

While you can do all of these things at other ages, some things are better experienced when you are young. Here are some fun and exciting things you should try before you hit the big 3-0. I’m in my early twenties and have done most of these things I’m going to tell you about so if I can do it anyone can!
Whether you’re just about to sit your A-levels or have just come back from a gap year, you’re probably excited to start university. Of course, you might also be feeling nervous as there’s still lots of things that you need to iron out. The good news is that preparing for your first semester isn’t as difficult as you would think. It’s just a case of being organised about things. When it comes to preparing for uni, the more organised you are, the better.
When people use the term “beach holiday”, you may roll your eyes. Doesn’t everyone who goes on a holiday go on a beach holiday of some kind? Aren’t they a little same, a little boring?
Well, let’s say you know you need to go on holiday, but you’re not sure where to go. Don’t be put off by how clichéd a beach holiday may seem! There are many reasons to treat yourself to a trip at a luxurious beach location. Here they are!
You need to relax!
I don’t know you very well at all. Chances are I don’t know you at all, actually. But I’m willing to bet that you need to relax. Most of us are working too hard. We’re building our stress levels to dangerous heights. It’s common. And it’s dangerous.
Beach holidays are an amazing way to relax. There are few experiences much farther removed from being at a desk in your office, flooded with emails and paperwork. You’re going to find soft sand, the calming sound of rushing waves, blue skies. That’s guaranteed relaxation. Unless you decide to go to a pebble beach in Brighton in December. Or Dead Horse Bay. Then you’re not going to find any of those things. In fact, you’ll probably have a miserable time. So don’t do that.
Not all beaches are alike
Let’s say that you’ve been to a beach before. You’re probably thinking that you don’t much need to see another one. After all, aren’t all beaches the same? Isn’t the only difference the heat as you go from country to country? Well, that’s not exactly true.
If you visit some South of France beaches, you’ll see great variety there. There are surfing cultures to experience, yacht clubs to join, even beaches with mini-villages. The beaches of the Florida Key West feature Caribbean parties and caves to explore. There’s even the beach of Goa, India, unofficially titled “Cow Beach”. Reckon you guess why it’s called Cow Beach? You’ve got it: there are cows that live there. Beach cows. Don’t worry, though: none of them are wearing bikinis.
So to go on a beach holiday could be a truly eye-opening, adventurous experience!
Beaches are the perfect place to read a book
There seems to be a stigma against reading on the beach. “Holiday reads” has become somewhat of a pejorative term for easy, relaxing reads. This may partly be because it seems odd to people that you would go all the way to a beach and focus on a book that demands your full attention. After all, aren’t you supposed to be paying some attention to your surroundings, too?
But one of the perks of a holiday is that you can spend more time A relaxing, warm beach is a great place to focus your reading time on anything. So don’t just bring something to read just for the sake of having something in your hands while you’re on the beach. Take that unread copy of Infinite Jest to the beach and lose yourself for a few hours.
What are you waiting for? Book yourself a beach holiday as soon as you can.
Do you want to plan an amazing hen party, but you’re not sure where to begin? There are all kinds of things you can do to make sure your friend has the hen party day and night she deserves! Really, it’s all down to using your imagination. However, the tips in this guide could point you in the right direction.
A Relaxing Spa Day
Whether you’re planning on going out on the town later on or not, a relaxing spa day could do everybody the world of good. The bride has likely been worrying a lot about her wedding day and what’s to come, so the spa day could be a fabulous idea for her especially. This will leave everybody relaxed for the big day. You could even have the spa day after a night out!
Pole Dancing Lessons
Pole dancing lessons are a far cry from the seedy lessons people make them out to be. They’re nothing like that in reality. They are actually an amazing way to get fit and have some fun! If you all want to do something different together as well as learn a new trick or two, pole dancing lessons could be a great way to spend the day before the night. You just want to make sure that they’re the bride’s ‘thing’ before you get them booked.
Shopping In A Big City
Who doesn’t love shopping? Shopping in big cities is even better! You can explore a place you’ve never been before, and have fun with a drink or two in between shops.
A Fancy Dinner
If you’re not the kind of group who want a huge night out, or maybe the bride just wants to relax, a fancy dinner could be all she needs to send her off into her new married life. You could go to a really posh restaurant and still get nice and dressed up for the occasion.
A Weekend Away
A weekend away will make a huge deal out of the hen party, so if you can get a bunch of people together then it could definitely be worth it. Bear in mind that some people who are important to the bride may not be able to make it, as weekends away could mean time off work and lots of money. If you do decide on a weekend away, make sure you don’t forget your hen party props.
The hen night is a good time to have some fun, maybe even some fancy dress. If this is the bride’s thing of course! You’re going to be dressed up all posh for the wedding, so don’t be afraid to have some fun and be a bit silly on the hen night.
A Theatre Show
Want to do something different, that doesn’t involved alcohol (or too much of it at least)? Go see a theatre show! There are so many you can see, and they are all breathtaking in their own way. You can still get dressed up at the theatre. It’s just as much a special occasion as any other idea!
Hope this has helped to pick what you will do for your hen night or some nice suggestions for someone you may know… being chief bridesmaid soon I have definitely got my thinking cap on!
Bling, glitter, sequins, sparkle… whatever you call it, adding it to an outfit can be a sure-fire way to glam it up! Whether you prefer something big and bold, or more subtle, there is sure to be a suitable suggestion for you here. Do you prefer to add your sparkle to your makeup? Or perhaps you like to wear it loud and proud in your outfits. Read on for some suggestions…
Wanting to add a little sparkle to your makeup? Glittery lipgloss is old news; now it’s all about metallic eyeshadows. Designer makeup brand Stilla do a metal foils collection that comes in a whopping 12 colours. While not cheap, a little goes a long way.
Would you love some sparkly shoes but just can’t seem to fit in the right pair for you? Maybe you have trouble with the right sizes, or have to keep your shoe-spend to a minimum? Whether you’re wanting dazzlingly flats, heels or wedges, how about considering shoe clips? They’re often more affordable than buying a pair of shoes, and due to their design, they’re removable. This means you can pop them onto any of your shoes, be that on the front or back or side! Consider sequin bows for a cute look, or a traditional, brooch-like clip for a more traditional look.
If you want to wear sparkle on your outfit, it can be kinda tricky not to look too dressed up. Wear too much and you’ll look like you’re headed to a nightclub, not the office. This is where the sequined jacket comes in. Sported by celebrities the world over, it really is the safe middle ground of wearing sparkles via your clothing. Pair it with a block colour dress, or a white shirt and smart jeans. If you feel a little overdressed, you can easily slip it off. Or, if you’ve been wearing it during the day and want to dress it up for the evening, add heels and some big earrings.
Belly button ring
This is a fantastic option when summer is on its way. Crop tops are in fashion once again this season, meaning you’ll be wanting to bare your midriff. Whether you’re headed shopping or to the beach, a belly button ring is a subtle yet sexy way of adding a little pizazz! You can buy belly button piercing online, or find a local piercing boutique and browse their range in-store.
A super versatile option, glitter nails can be achieved either at home or in a nail salon. Just make your choice depending on your budget- and maybe how much of a steady hand you have! If you choose to go in store, you’ll have access to lots of different methods. How about glitter tips on your manicure, for a sparkly twist on a classic look?
Wear your sparkles where everyone can see them, include you! Your hands, of course. Start making a collection of gorgeous vintage rings. Look in flea markets and antique jewellery stores. Build up your collection slowly, over a few months or even years. Look for gems, too; emeralds, rubies and sapphires always look stunning.
We may often hear the term “accessorising”. Adding accessories to an outfit is discussed as if it’s a last minute decision. Something we throw on effortlessly without really thinking about it to fully complete an outfit. But what if it’s not effortless at all? What if we hardly know where to begin with accessorising? With so many bags, shoes, metals, and stones to choose from, how do we know exactly what is suitable? It is important to remember that there are no real rules. The fact that we like it is more than enough justification to wear it! But if we really want to master the art of accessorising, then the key is to consider exactly what look we’re going for and what would help us achieve it. Once you have built a basic outfit, ask yourself how you want to adjust it and follow these easy suggestions.
