I’m Baaaaaaack and I have a new post for you today about the biggest pains in my booty when booking a holiday, sadly I don’t have a lovely holiday to look forward too this year as were six months into the big move (the reason I haven’t blogged). We have also just brought a kitten who is an absolute nightmare!! If you have any tips on how to train a kitten please throw them at me, I am in desperate need to train this kitten before he ruins my new house!
Please enjoy todays post and if you find that you have your own headaches when your booking your holidays please leave a comment below telling me what your biggest headache is…
Most of us spend half the year looking forward to our annual holiday. So, it makes sense that we don’t want anything to mess it up, right? Well, unfortunately, lots of people encounter issues when they’re just trying to reach their destination. You paid for your accommodation, and you booked your flights. However, there are many other things you might have overlooked. In an attempt to ensure all my readers have a fantastic time this year, I wanted to provide some information. On this page, you will find some of the most common issues people face when trying to enjoy their vacations. Hopefully, reading about them now will help you to avoid them in the future.
Failing to apply for a Visa
Depending on where you live in the world, you might have to apply for a Visa to gain access to the country. Experts from www.official-esta.com say that most people flying to the US have to get one before they leave home. There are exceptions though. Residents in the UK are often allowed into America under the Visa Waiver Program. However, the basic rule of thumb is that you need to research the issue months before you travel. Getting a Visa at the last minute isn’t always impossible. Still, it is always expensive. So, you might leave yourself with less spending money than you desired. Thankfully, there are lots of websites that offer accurate information. So, remember to check if you’re going abroad.
Failing to get required vaccinations
People flying between the US and the UK don’t have to visit their doctor for shots. However, the same isn’t true for many other countries in the world. You might become incredibly ill if you don’t have malaria jabs before flying to India for example. The best way to know your safe is to tell your doctor where you’re going. If you need vaccinations, their computer system will let them know instantly. We’ve all read the horror stories about people whose holidays were ruined by an extended hospital stay. You don’t want that to happen for two reasons. Firstly, you won’t enjoy yourself. Secondly, the trip to the hospital could become expensive.
Failing to check passport validity
In most countries, people have to apply for a new passport every ten years. Governments do that to ensure the photograph on the document accurately represents the individual using it. You would not believe the number of people who fail to check their expiry date. The last thing you need is to arrive at the airport but find you’re unable to check-in. Again, it’s possible to get a new passport in a couple of hours. However, the process is expensive, and you might have to drive to the other side of the country. There is a high chance you would miss your flights and have to buy more plane seats. Nobody wants that.
Now you know about some of the biggest holiday headaches, I hope you will manage to avoid them this year. At the end of the day, you want a relaxing break away with your friends or family. Don’t let silly oversights ruin the experience and leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. Preparation is the key to success!
