Todays post is about a certain duo that I have had the privilege to review recently and honestly it’s changed my whole perception of my skin. I was recently asked if I would like to review the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation and Setting Powder and I can honestly say I jumped at the chance! I have heard amazing things about the brand and never yet tried any of their products until now…
Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation 16hr in Opal*
This foundation definitely was definitely something that had been on my wishlist for a while but never took the chance to try until now. It comes in a tube packaging which isn’t necessarily my favourite packaging as its always a horrible mess towards the end where you have to cut the tube open to get the last bits of product out. Packaging aside the product itself is fantastic… The consistency is just right its not too thick but not too thin so it still offers high coverage without feeling you’ve caked your face in a thick foundation so your skin is unable to breathe. The colour match was also a real hit, choosing foundation shades online can be so tough but I’m lucky enough to have guessed right for once. I love the fact that this foundation comes in a variety of shades and tones. The most important test for this foundation was whether it could cover my facial scarring. I have been using the DermaColour Camouflage Crème to cover my facial scars and that’s a thick crème but blends out beautifully. But I wanted something a bit more liquid based and the Vichy Dermablend Foundation exceeded all expectations. It covers my scars and my blemishes. It hides dark circles. Its not drying on the face but not too wet. You name it this foundation does it. I highly recommend anyone who’s looking for full coverage to give this a try. It’s truly magnificent!
Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder*
Ever opened up a product from the packaging and knew straight away that this would be your go to product for months to come? That’s exactly how I felt opening this setting powder. It’s just your average white setting powder but it makes the skin look smooth and doesn’t allow you to be shiny within minutes of applying. The trouble I have had with most setting powders is that the settle in fine lines under my eyes and they also need to be re-applied two or three times a day to keep the face looking matte. I will admit I have topped up on powder during the day but I hardly ever need to with this setting powder. Its extremely lightweight and it doesn’t make you look like a chalk board once applied.
This duo is an absolute dream and I cannot thank the guys at Vichy enough for letting me experience this beautiful product. So much so that I’m going to look into their corrective stick foundations maybe for a bit of contouring or just as a ‘I cant be bothered to put my face on’ foundation.
