So we’ve all heard of the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette, haven’t we? If not I do have a wee little review for you here that you can have a nosey of. Today I bring you another Hourglass palette, one that really made me unsure for a long amount of time. But I’ve given it a lengthy trying out and finally have my thoughts to share with you!
So it’s take more than a while to work out my true feeling for this palette so I’ll tell you my first impressions and my thoughts now.
First Impressions = Too small that’s the first thing I instantly thought and oh I’ve paid £65 for this…
Boy was I wrong, I knew I would love the actual products themselves because I adore the blush palette. This palette comes with three powders, two blushes and a bronzer. Now I have been dying to try the powders for ages and I quite fancied trying the bronzer too but at £18 a time for a single it can get pretty expensive. So realising I got to try all the products that I actually wanted for a fraction of the cost made me like this palette that tiny bit more.
The sizing’s are a little on the small side, I love a big fluffy bronzer brush for an all over bronze but I can definitely not fit a fluffy brush into this little bronzer however it doesn’t make the palette un-useable. If you think about it logically I’ve paid just over £11 per pan in this palette which isn’t all half bad just to try something out.
Below you can see a few swatches of each pan in the palette. I think these powders are pretty pigmented to be honest and I also think they have an amazing formula. Sort of creamy but a powder that sits beautiful on the skin and doesn’t wear off during the day… Summer resistant makeup… Tick.
So lets talk about the shades shall we? After those swatch pictures who wouldn’t want to talk about them right? So in the first picture the first shade is Diffused Light this shade is absolutely gorgeous! This shade is a soft, warm pale yellow powder which claims and succeeds to reduce redness and brighten the appearance of skin along with concealing skin imperfections, pores and wrinkles. Anyone else in love with this powder just for the way it sounds on paper? I sure am! This powder honestly really does do what it says on the tin. Next up is Iridescent Light this powder is a warm peach shade which has a white shimmer. This is a beautiful shade but I don’t reach for it often as a powder I use it more as a highlight for when I don’t want to go for my Champagne Pop. Dim Light is a neutral peach/beige colour. This is another I don’t reach for often but when I do I lightly dust this all over my face and it warms my face up ever so slightly.
Luminous Bronze Light is the shade I was most excited but more nervous to try in the pan it looks like it would be way too orange for my skin. Surprisingly it isn’t though… phew! This shade is a medium tan shade infused with a champagne pearl colour. I think this bronzer is stunning. Looks amazing all over the face. Luminous Flush is one blush that I have already tried I think… I’m sure this was in the Limited Edition Blush Palette… I’m sure, I’m just too lazy to get out of bed (which is where I’m writing this post at half past midnight if I may add). It’s a gorgeous champagne rose colour, very subtle but very beautiful on the cheeks. Lastly another blush that I’m definitely 100% sure that was in the limited edition blush palette is Mood Exposure this is another gorgeous shade in this six pan palette, its a gorgeous soft plum shade which looks stunning on the cheeks paired with a smoky eye and a dark lip. I love this blush and I’m glad I’ve got another little pan for when I eventually hit pan on the Blush Palette one.
My most favourite pan out of this palette you say? It’s definitely got to be Diffused Light, the yellow coloured powder. This makes me under eye area look like I’ve had 1000x more sleep than I actually have and I look bright and awake. No powder has ever done this for me… EVER. So I’m just saying it’s kind of an awesome powder. I do however want to try the banana powder from ABH because apparently that’s amazing for under eye setting… maybe I’ll make a sneaky purchase and compare the two what do you think?
My least favourite? I don’t think I have anything least favourite other than I wish the pans were bigger but hey I’m sure we all want something more when it comes to cosmetics and the price for it. Hourglass have definitely sold me on this palette but it’s rather pricey! Good job the formula of the product is amazing and it lasts forever!
Have you tried this palette? What were your thoughts?
