I was always jealous of girls with great lips! The juicy finish and healthy glow of good lips is so important to the classic, beautiful look. So I set myself a target; create the best lip routine to make sure mine were perfect! It took a few weeks of trial and error, but I think I’ve finally perfected the regime.
In this post, I’m going to share those secrets with you. Perhaps you can tell me some of your top lip tricks, and we can learn from each other! It all starts with a combination of diet, lip-care, and makeup tricks. Ready to learn the best-kept secrets? Let’s take a look.
Water, water, water – I’ve come to realise that no treatments are effective as a simple glass of water. Well, eight glasses of water to be precise. That’s the doctor’s recommendation, and who am I to argue? Since I started drinking eight glasses every day, my skin has adopted a lovely natural glow. Better yet, my lips look moist, juicy, and radiant every single day. It’s such a simple thing, but it has become my number one beauty secret. Try it yourself, and you’ll notice the difference.
Lip Balm – Once you’ve fed your lips with nature’s best kept secret, it’s time to protect them. The worst thing about lips is that they dry out quickly. The get cracks, and even start to peel. You’ve got to avoid this! And that means taking good protective care of them. It all starts with a good lip balm. Try to carry one with you at all times. You never know when your lips will start to dry out during the day.
Lip Exfoliator – Yes, these really do exist. And, they really do work. A lip exfoliator is exactly like your normal facial scrub. Only, it’s not quite as abrasive, so it won’t damage the softer skin on your lips. I’d use this cautiously if I were you, especially when first starting. Just use it in small doses, or you risk irritating the sensitive skin. Just like your normal exfoliator, it rubs off the harder, dead skin from your lips, leaving them soft and beautiful.
Choose the right colour lipstick – The last step is all about the right makeup. It’s so important that you match your lipstick to your skin complexion. Your complexion is usually either warm or cool. If you have a warm skin tone, try darker lipsticks like browns, oranges, and coral pinks. If you have a cooler complexion, try bold colours like cherry reds, plum, and pinks. You’ll need to experiment here, so buy lipstick online and see what works for you!
Extra tricks – Once you’ve found the perfect lipstick, you can enhance it even more. My favourite trick is using lip liner to bring out the full plumpness of my lips. It gives them definition and shape. All you need is a slightly darker shade to create the border line. Lastly, add a small drop of foundation in the centre of your lips, and blend it. It gives you a more natural look.
Follow these tricks, and you’ll have beautiful, juicy lips in no time!
