When you’re all loved-up in a relationship, everything in life seems much sweeter. You want to spend every minute together holding hands, cuddling, and getting closer. What a pity it doesn’t stay that way forever! Eventually, the novelty of the relationship wears off, and you go about your lives as usual. What you need is an injection of fun into your relationship to reignite that early spark.
Spending time with your partner should be a pleasure, and not something you just end up doing. Make each moment count by still having date nights, even if you’ve been together for years. Finding new things to do with each other gives you a chance to find out new things about each other. So get off that sofa, and treat each other like the relationship is still brand new. It’s the best way to keep things fresh! I only see my better half every two weeks, which is awful as I hate being away from him but it makes me appreciate him a lot more and I always look forward to seeing him!
When you’re looking for fun days out for couples, you don’t always have to stay near home. Why not take a road trip, and try a new place? Theme parks can still be fun no matter what age you are. There is plenty for everybody, and you can enjoy some quality time together at the same time. At this time of year, you don’t have to fight through the hoards of kids either as it is term time.
A couples spa can also be a great place to spend the day. Get a couples massage, and then relax in the jacuzzi with a glass of bubbly. You can be pampered and still be spending quality time together. Sometimes a little touch of luxury can bring out the best in you both. See if a couple’s spa reinvigorates your relationship.
Another way to bring out the best in you both is to try some action activities. Rock climbing, hiking and rowing are great ways to bring couples together. You often have to work as a team. Perhaps you like to compete with your other half? Why not try a bike ride and see who gets to your destination the quickest? Alternatively, head out to the swimming pool for a quick two hundred metre race.
When was the last time you went on a romantic weekend away? You don’t have to go far. So long as you pick somewhere to stay that is different from your usual living situation you can refresh your relationship. Pick a luxury hotel, or even camping in the hills. Choose a holiday cottage or rent a city apartment. Whatever you choose, it is always nice to get away from home and enjoy the company of your partner uninterrupted. Me and the other half love going to Centreparcs, we’re actually booked up to go again in November! That will be our second time this year! It’s great to have some quality time away!
How about getting some culture? If you’ve never been to the opera before, why not dress up and try it? Perhaps you could try a themed dinner theatre? You could always wrap up warm and head up to York for a ghost walk. Try something new that neither of you has done before. It could be interesting to compare notes on how much or how little you each enjoyed it. Whatever you pick for your next date, make sure it is quality time with your partner.
