We all know that a fast metabolism is a good thing. Unfortunately, not everybody has a fast metabolism. Some people are born with a fast metabolism, some people have to work towards building one. People who indulge in crash/fad diets all the time will slow down their metabolism and potentially mess it up in the long run. So, how can you boost your metabolism to ensure that it’s running as quickly as possible? Let’s take a look…
Stop Crash Diets
Crash diets will slow your metabolism right down. Yes, you might ‘lose weight’ in the short term, but you won’t keep it off. Ever wondered why crash dieters are always on the next crash diet, and the next? Because they don’t work in the long run! You need something sustainable that you can do forever.
Drink Lots of Tea
Certain types of tea, without milk or sugar, can be an amazing way to boost your metabolism. Green tea and skinny tea both work to boost the metabolism and have a whole host of other benefits. They won’t do all the work alone though, so make sure you’re doing everything else on the list!
Eat Every 2-3 Hours
You need to eat regularly to keep your metabolism revved up. Have a series of small meals rather than a few large ones. Every 2-3 hours is the ideal way to space your meals. Your hunger will stay at a sustainable level and you won’t feel like snacking as much either!
Sprinting is so much better than endurance cardio for fat loss and boosting the metabolism. Your metabolism will continue to work for hours after you’ve stopped sprinting too! Try this:
- Warm up for 5 minutes at a moderate pace.
- Sprint for 30 seconds.
- Walk or stop until your heart rate goes back to normal. About 1-2 minutes.
- Sprint again.
- Repeat this process 6-10 times.
- Cool down for 5 minutes.
Resistance training builds strength and muscle, which helps to boost your metabolism. Your metabolism will be working at top speed when you’re just sat there after consistent resistance training!
Consistency is the key to speeding up your metabolism. Depending on how it has already been affected, you may need to work extra hard to speed it back up. Just don’t give in! Consistency will always work, so you must be patient with the right attitude. Don’t expect to look amazing after a few weeks, or even a few months. You’ll gradually improve, and that’s the best way to do it! I like to treat myself after a little while if I’ve been working hard. I might buy myself a new beauty product, or even just have a nice, long bath. It’s up to you!
Try these clever ways to boost your metabolism and you’ll soon be a lean, mean, fat burning machine! It takes time, but it’ll always be worth the blood, sweat, and tears. Go for it!
