I’d firstly like to personally thank the organisers (Catherine, Kat, Tori and Kirstie) of this meet-up! I thorough enjoyed myself thank-you! This was my first blogger meet-up and it was everything like I had expected! The meet-up were held in Eten Cafe and Bistro situated in the Cathedral Quarter of Sheffield City Centre! Much to my embarrassment I had no idea where the cafe was so I had to ask for directions. (holds face in hands) I thought this was the perfect place to hold the event, we were in the upstairs room away from customers, it was light and airy, and had just the right amount of space to fit us all in. The staff was a pleasure to talk to and I felt at ease the moment I walked through the door, well after I had bought a glass of wine to calm the nerves. The first thing that surprised me was how many people had traveled just to come to the meet-up! There were girls from Nottingham, Hull, Lincoln, Newcastle, Birmingham and possibly a few more places. This just showed how committed these girls were to their blogs. I’d definitely travel for another meet-up! The event started mid-day and we began with a talk from Lush. Having a bad experience with a product from the brand before I was still excited to see what they had to talk to us about! We were told all about the company! Did you know lush don’t trade with companies who test their products on animals or even sister companies that trade with animal? Amazing right! I didn’t know this until I attended the event and the lovely people from lush informed us. They were so passionate about the company it made me feel like I needed to go shopping that instance! They definitely changed my view on Lush and I will definitely be heading to try out some products in the near future! The company had even sent us some free goodies, I received some shampoo, some eye cream and a bath bomb! (extremely happy) Thank you lush for your amazing service! Thoroughly enjoyed the talk! You can expect me in the Sheffield store pretty soon! Throughout the day I spent my day sitting with some lovely girls who were an absolute pleasure to meet. I met Emma from Dino’s Beauty Blog and Becky from Just-Becky and Leanne from Lem-Beauty Blog. Leanne sells gorgeous nail polishes in all shades and they’re very affordable I wanted to buy them all! The second talk we had were from Benefit! We had the pleasure of meeting Kitty who is the accounts manager at boots and Jaime who is in charge of all the Yorkshire branches! They were both friendly and easy to talk to. Even though having technical difficulties with the projector and laptop they still managed to provide an excellent talk. We had a full makeup demonstration including how to map your eyebrows to get them exactly how you like! I even had the pleasure of having my brows mapped by Kitty over in Boots after the meet-up had ended! She did them perfectly as I may say! I went home to the boyfriend all smiley and I purposely made him look at my eyebrows to see how good they looked! I felt like a whole new woman after leaving boots. Benefit had given us a goody bag which contained they’re real push up liner and they’re real mascara. Which made me super excited to start using them both! (Keep a look out on my Instagram for the liner photos). After both talks the event was coming to an end, and all the bloggers that attended were given a goody-bag which was rather on the huge side. When I got home I could not wait to get it all out and see what was inside. Some things definitely weren’t my cup of tea like appetite suppressants and the e-cig. I definitely don’t need to lose weight and I’m not a smoker so I weren’t rather impressed with these. Never-the-less there was some unusual brands which I had never heard of before, some products I will be reviewing when I’ve had chance to test them out. I’ll definitely be using my tea bags as I’m a serious tea drinker. I’m also quite intrigued by all the gels and creams we got which are centered in the middle of the picture below! Overall I thoroughly loved the event and I met some really amazing people! I can’t wait for the next one already!
